The first thing you notice about Azure Intense by Brandy is how bright it opens. Crisp apple and lemon crack against blackcurrant, and a twist of pink pepper keeps the whole thing from feeling sugary. It reads clean and confident from the very first spray, which is exactly what a modern men’s fragrance should do.
Give it ten minutes and the character shifts. Pineapple brings a juicy lift, then lavender and geranium pull things in a more grounded, aromatic direction. There is patchouli here too, woven quietly through the middle rather than shouted, and a little elemi adds a resinous edge. What I like most is the dry down. Birch and cedar bring a dry, faintly smoky wood, ambroxan gives that clean skin-like glow, and oak moss with labdanum rounds it into something warm and slightly rugged. It goes from fresh burst to solid woody-amber over the course of an hour, and the transition is smooth.

This is a 100ml Eau de Parfum, and it wears like one. Projection is strong for the first couple of hours, then it settles closer to the skin while still lasting well through a working day. The ambroxan and musk in particular have real staying power. It leans versatile across the seasons, though the woody base gives it enough weight to hold up on cooler evenings as well as bright afternoons.

A quick word on the blackcurrant, because it is easy to miss. It sits just behind the citrus and adds a tart, slightly jammy depth that makes the top feel more expensive than a straightforward lemon opening. That fruit thread is what ties the fresh start to the darker woods later, so the whole composition hangs together rather than splitting into two halves. Small touch, big difference.
Two sprays to the chest and one to the back of the neck is the sweet spot. Any more and the labdanum can turn a little heavy up close, so build it up gradually until you find your level. It also layers well over a plain deodorant without clashing.
